A super Grouping consisting of 5 documents
(1)The fist is A personnel file on v. Petersenn complete with 2 photos as a Standartenfuhrer. It gives a short history of his career until that point. It is signed by an SS Brigadeführer and Generalmajor ( still trying to figure out the signature). It measures 8 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches. It has some folds and creases but is in sound condition. It is actually lighter than the photos show.
(2)A letter signed by SS Gruppenfuhrer Oswald Pohl requesting von
Petersen NOT to be assigned as commander of a particular place as it would cause
him major familial difficulties with his kids and schooling since the new
assignment had no schools in the area and the kids would need to be put into a
boarding school as a result. An alternate area command not far from Berlin is
suggested. It measures 8 1/4 x 11 1/2 inches and has some damage
at the top left corner. The Pohl Signature is very strong.
(3) Document from FEB 1936: "Aktenvermerk" - recounts the fact that
Standartenführer von Petersen and Standartenführer Kruger (who had since died)
had been assigned together in Pommern 1931 (where there were few SS units at the
time), to build up some new units within the area of that Standarte, but they
had had a difference of opinion during a briefing with Kurt Dalluege about the
new unit status. In the briefing, the strengths and locations of the units in
the area under Petersens' jurisdiction were established. However, a difference
of opinion arose between Knuger and von Petersen, which escalated to a point
where each felt he had been personally affronted by the other. the signature has
to be that of Krüger (note Obergruppenführer promotion date, which preceded the
document date .
Near the end of that year, 1931, Obergruppenführer Krüger (apparently no
relation) - who was not an Obergruppenführer at that time - held a meeting
with the two in his office in Berlin, at which he laid down the law to stop the
BATTLE (Kampf) as he puts it, going on between the two. They both admitted to
errors, and resolved their dispute and noted they would work together on the
task at hand, in future.
(4) Petersenn's SA Service Contract for Berlin W 35. It is 1934 dated and signed by Petersenn and also by Kruger was was the Leader in the district. There is a small piece of paper missing from the top left corner.
(5)The last doc signed by an SS_Obersturmbannführer Hans Kelz: Gives
Petersenn's
SS number And states he was with SS Oberabschnitt Elbe. It is August 1936 dated.
